Valentine’s Day. The one day we’re all reminded to shower someone else with love, attention, and overpriced chocolate-covered strawberries. But here’s a radical thought: What if this year, you took yourself out on the best date of your life?
I’m not talking about a bubble bath and face mask (though those are great). I’m talking about investing in
yourself—your dreams, your skills, your business idea that’s been whispering (or shouting) at you for months.
Because here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:
When you fall in love with building something meaningful for yourself, everything else in your life starts to flow.
The Best Investment You’ll Ever Make
The Daily Stoic offers this wisdom that hit me right in the chest:
“The Best Investment: An investment in yourself—learning new skills, gaining knowledge, cultivating character—will never lead to regret.”
Read that again.
Will. Never. Lead. To. Regret.
Not your stock portfolio. Not even your 401(k). The investment in
you—in learning that skill, taking that course, hiring that consultant, building that business—that’s the one bet that always pays dividends.
And yet, we hesitate. We wait for the “right time.” We prioritize everyone else’s needs. We tell ourselves we’ll start after we save more money, lose more weight, feel more ready.
But what if Valentine’s Day 2026 was the day you decided:
I’m worth it. My dreams are worth it. My potential is worth it.

Last year, I hit rock bottom. Postpartum depression. A personal life that imploded. Financial strain that kept me up at night. Zero boundaries despite years of convincing everyone (including myself) that I had my life together.
The old me would have stayed stuck, waiting for circumstances to change. But somewhere in the fog, I realized something:
